Department of Physician Assistant

Saint Joseph’s University’s Department of Physician Assistant will equip you with the skills needed to make a direct impact in the lives of patients as a PA. Through the Department of Physician Assistant, you’ll learn how to diagnose illnesses, develop and execute treatment plans, assist in surgeries, perform procedures and counsel patients.

Physician Assistants (PAs) are vital members of physician-directed teams, licensed to practice and prescribe medication in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Pursuing the PA program at Saint Joseph’s is an optimal path for students with a science aptitude who seek an exciting and challenging education to prepare for an extremely rewarding career that’s consistently named as one of the best jobs because of the salary, job prospects, low-stress level and work-life balance.

Career preparation and the opportunity to choose your own path are just two advantages our PA program offers. You’ll also benefit from our legacy of distinguished pharmacy and science achievements, a new state-of-the-art facility, and leading-edge resources, including video-capable exam rooms, and a simulation lab. Our students are drawn to the vibrancy of our urban campus in the center of Philadelphia’s University City. We share library resources with Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania and are just minutes away from downtown historic Philadelphia.
