Student Life Awards
Overview
Each year, the University Student Senate recognizes outstanding student achievement at the Student Life Awards in April. Members of the senior class and others are selected to receive leadership, service, and scholarship awards.
Nominations are welcome from any member of the SJU community, including self-nominations. Please read the award descriptions carefully as they have specific criteria. You may nominate an individual for multiple awards if applicable. Nominations are accepted during the spring semester.
Linda Lelii Leadership Award - Hawk Hill and University City
- The Linda Lelii Leadership Award honors a graduating senior from Hawk Hill or University City who has demonstrated outstanding and courageous leadership at Saint Joseph's University.
- This award recognizes a student who exemplifies ethical leadership, community engagement, and a lasting impact on campus and beyond. The recipient has consistently led with integrity, responsibility, and a commitment to making a difference.
Scholarship Award - Hawk Hill and University City
- This award honors a graduating senior who has consistently achieved academic excellence throughout their time at the University.
- It recognizes outstanding academic performance, intellectual rigor, and the meaningful application of their education.
- In addition to maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5, this senior has enriched their academic journey through active engagement in co-curricular activities while at Saint Joseph's.
Service Award - Hawk Hill and University City
- This award honors a graduating senior who has shown an exceptional commitment to service both within and beyond the Saint Joseph's University community.
- It celebrates an individual who embodies the Jesuit ideal of being a person for and with others, demonstrating meaningful, consistent dedication to service and inspiring others to lead lives rooted in service and compassion.
Professional Practicioner - University City Location
- Awarded to a student in their 4th year or above who has demonstrated high levels of professionalism through roles in research, rotations, internships, or other off-campus professional opportunity.
- They show exceptional levels of promise in their chosen field of work and represent Saint Joseph's University to the highest caliber.
