Summer Housing

Housing Accommodations:

Summer Housing is available for summer academic sessions to upperclassman students taking summer school or participating in a summer SJU program. Check-in for Summer I terms, Co-Op term, Summer Scholars and 12-month students will be on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. 

Although summer courses begin on Monday, May 12th, Summer Housing will not open until Sunday, May 18th to provide sufficient time for rooms to be prepared following Spring Final Exams. Students with a confirmed summer assignment will be approved for an extension in their current spring assignment until Summer Housing Check-In. 

Because Summer Session II ends on Fall 2025 Move-In Weekend, students utilizing summer housing for the Summer Session II may be relocated to a temporary location for the final week of the summer term (starting on August 14th) so that the summer spaces may be prepared for Fall arrivals.

Summer Housing Application:

Summer Housing Agreements are available in the Housing Portal in the Nest. 

Summer Housing Assignments will be processed on a rolling basis — you will receive a notification of your assignment via email. If you wish to request a specific roommate(s), please submit your Summer Roommate Request through the request form in the Housing Portal.

NOTE: Your completed housing agreement is a binding agreement between you and the university for the duration of the summer session selected. Therefore, residents are responsible for all costs associated with housing unless they have been officially released from their agreement by the Associate Director of Residence Life. Requests to be released from the agreement must be submitted in writing no later than May 9, 2025, for Summer Session I and June 20, 2025, for Summer Session II. Releases may be granted only for extraordinary circumstances and may result in a penalty fee.
