Office of Residence Life

The Office of Residence Life at Saint Joseph's University strives to provide secure, academically focused housing which fosters a community of civility and respect and supports a positive living-learning environment consistent with Ignatian ideals. We provide services and opportunities to engage, learn, and grow within an on-campus living environment that is safe, secure, and well maintained, and where individual differences and academic excellence are celebrated.

Residence Halls

At Saint Joseph's University, a residence hall is more than just a place to live — it's a safe and welcoming community. We also offer other residential programs, such as a Recovery Residence for students who are in active recovery, residential learning communities and gender-inclusive housing.

Residential Learning Communities

Embrace Saint Joseph's mission as residents through our Residential Learning Communities (RLCs). RLCs are learning communities comprised of students who choose to live on the same floor or in the same residential area and participate in learning opportunities based on their specific interest, major or academic area.

  • August 21-22First Year Move-In.
    August 23Returning Student Move-In.
    August 24First Day of Classes.
    October 12-13Fall Break - Residence Halls remain open.
    November 24Thanksgiving Break Begins: Residence Halls close at 7 p.m. Thanksgiving break housing information will be posted by November 1, 2026.
    November 29Thanksgiving Break Ends: Residence Halls open at 10 a.m. Classes resume on Monday, November 30.
    December 10Finals Begin.
    December 16Finals End & Residence Halls Close at 7 p.m. Fall closing information will be posted by December 1, 2026.
  • January 18Spring Semester Move-In.
    January 19Classes Begin.
    March 5Spring Break Begins: Residence Halls close at 7 p.m. Spring break housing information will be posted by February 15, 2027.
    March 14Spring Break Ends: Residence Halls open at 10 a.m. Classes resume on Monday, March 15.
    March 26 & March 29Good Friday & Easter Monday. All Residence Halls remain open.
    May 7Finals Begin.
    May 13Finals End. Residence Halls close.
