The Inclusion and Diversity Committee (IDC) serves as a learning and reflective space across the university for deeper conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion. The committee meets regularly to share resources and deepen campus learning on DEI-related topics.

The Trans-Inclusion Working Group (TIWG) convenes to address the needs of gender non-conforming campus members. The University’s mission of “striving to be an inclusive and diverse community that educates and cares for the whole person” guides the working group’s consideration of the following questions:
The working group operated from a framework of providing universal access to the campus environment and opportunities; thus, all of our implementation recommendations will strengthen inclusion for inclusion for transgender, genderqueer and non-binary students, faculty and staff, as well as other underrepresent groups on campus.

The Advisory Committee of the Women’s Center was created to enable and encourage the participation of students, staff and faculty in the process of achieving the goals and objectives of the mission and purpose of the Center as a hub for social justice leadership in the areas of gender equity, identity and activism.
The Diverse Alumni Council functions as a subcommittee of the SJU National Alumni Board (NAB). This group works in partnership with University Advancement and the Office of the Associate Provost for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to engage our diverse alumni in mentoring, event planning and strategic visioning. The inaugural co-chairs are Reese Blair ’98 and Christian O’Brien ’13.
