About the Kinney Center's Services

Social skills programs focus on building life and community skills. Social skills programs are designed to help participants master a set of goals specific to their strengths and challenges. Each session includes lessons a variety of activities to target different life skills. 

Program Highlights (Skill topics will vary among age group):

• Weekly themed sessions focusing on a key life skill using practical, real-world topics in fun and interactive ways
• Hands-on experiences to practice skills in ways that make them easy to use outside of the program
• Team-building activities to encourage friendships strengthen problem solving skills
• Personalized learning to help participants achieve goals chosen with their family and support team.
• Weekly skill-building sessions focusing on key workplace competencies
• Mock interview practice and role-playing activities

An engaging and inclusive program designed for ages 5-21. Each session combines structured sports, movement challenges, and social skill development in a supportive environment with 1:1 assistance from trained Kinney SCHOLARS. 

Participants will be split by age. Each session contains a dynamic warm-up, skill-based game, movement challenge, balance and agility skill, and ends with a cool down. 

This program was developed with the Saint Joseph's Department of Exercise Physiology.
