School of Health Professions Dean's Message

Dear Students,

Welcome to Saint Joseph’s University School of Health Professions!

A FOUNDATION FOR GROWTH AND EXCELLENCE

The School of Health Professions offers a diverse range of accredited programs to meet the ever-evolving demands of healthcare including, exercise physiology, occupational therapy, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology and toxicology, pharmacy, physical therapy, and physician assistant. The intensive curriculum in these programs paired with our Jesuit, liberal arts core challenges Saint Joseph’s students to think critically, problem solve creatively, and communicate effectively. This approach not only makes our programs unique, but differentiates our graduates. At Saint Joseph’s, you are part of a legacy of excellence that celebrates wide-ranging contributions to healthcare and impressive firsts, such as the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, the nation’s first pharmacy school.

PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS

Our professional programs offer accelerated and direct-entry models for students who enter as undergraduates with the desire to further their studies through master’s or doctoral level work at Saint Joseph’s.

Across our programs, the School of Health Professions provides students the opportunity to study in state-of-the-art facilities, gain exposure to diverse clinical environments and patient populations, work with major healthcare providers through the University’s strong affiliations, and serve in our pro bono community clinics.

Saint Joseph’s School of Health Professions prepares graduates for some of the U.S. News and World Report’s 100 Best Jobs of 2022, including occupational therapist, physical therapist, and physician assistant.

CULTURE OF MENTORSHIP

To develop well-rounded and compassionate healthcare professionals and scientists, our approach is rooted in a culture of mentorship. Our faculty support the personal and professional development of our students by providing individualized guidance, engaging learners in cutting-edge research, and developing lasting connections. The School of Health Professions is committed to providing an inclusive environment that fosters a sense of belonging.

DESTINATION FOR HEALTH SCIENCES AND INTERPROFESSIONAL COLLABORATION

Saint Joseph’s School of Health Professions is a destination for excellence in health sciences and interprofessional collaboration. We are a catalyst for developing interprofessional education and practice experiences that prepare learners across disciplines to transform healthcare and optimize patient outcomes.

Together, we will continue our legacy of excellence as we shape the future of healthcare and health sciences. We look forward to supporting you as you pursue your passion!
