My job title on the company website and on my business card is The Storyteller. In less fun terms, I am the US Client Relations Supervisor. I help create unbelievable trips to Italy and France. I want everyone to experience the Italy I love, and, incredibly, I have the privilege of getting paid for it.
How did you learn about this opportunity?
When I became an Italian major 3 days into college, I knew that I needed to go to Italy. After studying abroad, I knew that I had to move to Italy after graduation. After moving back to the US, I still had this immense passion for Italian culture. Luckily I found The Roman Guy, a company founded by two Americans in Italy who had the same goal of spreading their knowledge and passion of Rome to others.
How did your SJU education impact your professional goals?
At SJU, the Modern and Classical Language Department truly did become my second family. My Italian professors bought into my insanity and let it thrive. The reason I chose Saint Joe's over other universities was due to the focus of the Italian and International Relations departments. The value of having professors who care about you as an individual is immeasurable. SJU taught me to Live Greater. I still know that I would not be able to survive in a corporate business casual climate. Once you find your passion do not compromise. SJU taught me that we can all be superstars and that we can all help others in our own way.
Did you participate in any experiential learning activities while at SJU?
While at SJU, I studied abroad in the Eternal City (Rome). There I was able to immerse myself into all aspects of Italian culture. This included taking classes on Italian politics, human rights, and art history as well as volunteering at a refugee center every week. When on campus in Philly, I also served as co-President of our wonderful Italian Club.
