Mandatory Fee Descriptions

This page contains brief descriptions about certain mandatory fees that are assessed by the University. These fees are billed to the student’s account.

This page contains information about mandatory fees. It does not include information about other types of fees that are applicable to specific courses or academic programs; application fees; service fees (such as transcript requests, student identification cards, and late payment fees); academic fees (such as laboratory fees and software fees); or other program-specific fees (such as the ASPIRE or PACE programs). It also does not include information about other charges such as on-campus housing; meal plans; transportation; and/or course materials. Additional fees may be charged to a student’s account depending on the student’s academic program and/or services requested.


Student Orientation Fee (First Year Undergraduate Students)

Applies to: All undergraduate full-time first-year day students.

Cost for 2025-2026 Academic Year: $350

Details: This fee is assessed during the first semester that the student enrolls. It applies regardless of whether the student is able to attend the new student orientation. The revenue from this fee is used to cover a number of activities intended for new students.

 

Student Orientation Fee (Transfer Students)

Applies to: All undergraduate full-time transfer students.

Cost for 2025-2026 Academic Year: $130

Details: This fee is assessed during the first semester that the incoming transfer student enrolls. It applies regardless of whether the student is able to attend the new student orientation. The revenue from this fee is used to cover a number of activities related to new students.


Student Activity Fee

Applies to: All undergraduate full-time day students.

Cost for 2025-2026 Academic Year: $200

Details: This fee is assessed every academic year at $100 per semester (during the fall and spring semesters) for the duration of the student’s undergraduate program. This fee is not assessed during summer sessions. The revenue from this fee is used to fund activities and services for full-time undergraduate day students.


School/College - Specific Mandatory Fees
 

School of Nursing and Allied Health

Software Fee

Applies to: All undergraduate students enrolled in a program within the School of Nursing and Allied Health.

Cost for 2025-2026 Academic Year: $300

Details: This fee is assessed every semester for the duration of the student’s undergraduate program. The revenue from this fee helps to fund certain compliance software and services that support academic programs in SNAH.


Haub School of Business

Technology Fee

Applies to: All undergraduate students enrolled in a program within the Haub School of Business.

Cost for 2025-2026 Academic Year: $150

Details: This fee is assessed every academic year for the duration of the student’s undergraduate program. The revenue from this fee helps to fund computer equipment and technologies used in Haub School of Business academic programs.
