Center for Inclusion and Diversity
Who We Are
The Center for Inclusion and Diversity aims to support an environment that respects differences and inclusiveness through which all members of the SJU community feel a sense of belonging. All are welcome in the CID –we provide an inclusive atmosphere where everyone can access resources, hold meetings, host events, study, spend time with others, or even take a break.
What We Do
We serve as a social justice education, advocacy, and action hub for the University. Through a myriad of activities, workshops, and training, the Center for Inclusion and Diversity provides programming and services that enlighten and educate the university community. For students, the CID offers the Running Start Early Arrival Program and the Ready to Launch Program. Plus, there are several CID Student Organizations to consider, as well as the CID Annual Retreat.
The CID also invites all students, faculty, staff, and administrators to join us for CID Open House events and the CID Senior Celebration. There is also an Interfaith Prayer Room close to the CID. We encourage everyone to get involved and stay engaged!
Running Start
Running Start is an early arrival program that begins with a four-day “pre-orientation” and continues throughout the year to support the diversity of our first-year students. The program enhances students’ sense of belonging, prepares them for success, and is open to all students. For more information about Running Start, email runningstart@sju.edu.
