PHILADELPHIA [Sept. 4, 2025] — Hawk & Barrel, a new dining destination from The Bock Group, opened its doors today at 2463 N. 54th Street on Saint Joseph’s University’s Hawk Hill campus. The bar and grill brings fresh energy and food to campus, serving both the Saint Joseph’s community and neighbors.

Named with input from the University community, Hawk & Barrel features American-style cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere. The new establishment also includes two additional components: a takeout area serving popular local favorite Tony Roni’s and a space available for campus and community events.

“We’re excited to welcome The Bock Group to Hawk Hill and to introduce Hawk & Barrel as a space that brings people together,” said Jill Dougherty Cleary, BS ’00, EdD ’23, vice president of administration and operations at Saint Joseph’s University.

The restaurant is part of The Bock Group’s tradition of building neighborhood-based hospitality experiences across Philadelphia, now extended to the University’s Hawk Hill campus.

“Hawk & Barrel will serve as a place for students, faculty, neighbors and visitors to gather,” said Tom Bock, president and founder of Bock Development Group. “We’re honored to bring this concept to life in partnership with Saint Joseph’s University and can’t wait to serve the Hawk Hill community.”
