The Day-to-Day:

Every day is different due to the fact that there are speaker events I’m invited to. From 8 to 9:30, I'm looking at my Microsoft Outlook and my agenda throughout the week. I'm also looking at the projects that I've been working on, whether it be a digital wellness presentation or a presentation on incorporating AI in the human resources office. Then around 10 a.m., it can be a speaker event or a meet and greet with one of the leadership people from DBHIDS (Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services). It could also be a trip down to 8th and Market Street to attend an event about urban agriculture and the benefits of it.

Make sure all your relationships are transformational – Don't be a transactionist person!"

Go-to snack or drink that gets you through the day:

A Slim Jim, since they’re sold at a small market like a “tiny POD” on the floor above.

My “I nailed it” moment:

Honestly, just practicing my presentation on digital wellness because the subject matter is my strong suit. It appeals to me, considering that I'm Gen Z, and I'm presenting to some older generations. The project really resonates with me, and it really resonates to a good amount of my coworkers. A specific “I nailed it” moment is an activity I made up. The presentation is going to start off with a screen time activity, so I'm going to have all the people in the audience take out their phones, scroll through their settings, find that screen time and share with the person next to them.

Favorite part of your role:

The people in my office and in my division. They're so sweet, and they really, really look out for me, and they want me to get the best internship experience.

Tips for the next intern:

I'm gonna say this so many times because I've heard it so many times from many of my coworkers: It's not about what you know, it's about who you know. Let's say you meet a person and do a meet-and-greet. You should hold on to them for the rest of your life. It can be meeting the mayor, for example, or meeting the senior executive advisor to your department, or even your “big” in your fraternity. You hold that for life. And make sure all your relationships are transformational. Don't be a transactionist person!
