Strategic Plan Benchmarking

The Institutional Effectiveness Committee launched a 3-component process of annual reporting in 2016, comprised of an annual report for the ending fiscal year, an annual plan for the upcoming FY, and a preliminary plan for the following FY. The process was simplified in 2020 by removing the preliminary plan, and revised once more in 2021 to align with a process of benchmarking accomplishments as they support and execute the Strategic Plan, Thinking Anew, Acting Anew.

Presently, the Strategic Plan Benchmarking process simplifies the annual reporting by moving reporting to the University Leadership level, focusing on achievements made, and linking them explicitly to the 16 Objectives outlined in the strategic plan. This revised process serves to provide data for prioritizing strategic plan objectives in the midst of institutional integrations and provide evidence for our institutional accreditation. Benchmarks of Progress allows SJU community members to browse or search content. The Office of Institutional Effectiveness also developed slides detailing progress and selected highlights presented to select University stakeholder groups.

Additionally, SJU publishes yearly University Reports with content that can connect to the priorities of the strategic plan.
