Brittany Stokes, '17

Brittany Stokes ’17, a criminal justice major from Philadelphia decided to take a gap year before law school to pursue an opportunity volunteering with City Year, working with children in under-resourced Philadelphia schools. Her mission is to enhance the educational experience of school children, work with teachers and run after-school programs.

Brittany was inspired to apply to City Year after her Service Learning experience at Families Forward, a transitional shelter for women and children, and her Weekly Service activities at Samuel Gompers Elementary School.
