Meet the Class of 2029
Saint Joseph’s newest class prepares to step foot on campus.

The fall 2025 semester is quickly approaching and one of the largest classes of new Hawks are ready to take flight and make Saint Joseph’s University their new home. The official class size will be available in October following the enrollment census.
“As our student body continues to grow, it is exciting to be preparing to welcome the largest class in well over a decade to Hawk Hill this August,” says Liz Kennedy Walsh, the University’s senior vice president of enrollment management, marketing and communications. “And it's not just the number of students, it is the wide variety of perspectives and interests and talents these students will bring to our campus. I can't wait to see all they will accomplish in their time here.”
The Class of 2029 draws students locally, nationally and internationally, with 27 states and territories and 20 foreign nations represented. This marks a significant increase from the 13 countries represented in last year’s Class of 2028. The highest numbers of international students come from the United Kingdom, Nigeria, Ghana, France and Canada. Beyond these nations, students are coming to Hawk Hill from countries as far as Australia and China.
Majors declared by the Class of 2029 also vary, with students expressing interest in programs from all of Saint Joseph’s six academic schools and colleges. Students will be studying 71 different majors, with popular majors including finance, health sciences, marketing, psychology, nursing and accounting. These 71 majors are a portion of the 100+ bachelor’s programs the University has to offer.

One incoming business student, Mia Larrea BS ’29, an accounting major from Washington Township, New Jersey, said academics, location and atmosphere were all factors that drew her to Saint Joseph’s.
“The business program stood out to me and just how close to home it was,” Larrea says. “And I knew they have a lot of school spirit, which I like.”
Larrea is not alone in being drawn to Saint Joseph’s business programs. The Haub School of Business remains the academic school with the highest enrollment, with 43% of the Class of 2029 committing to the business school. Following Haub in popularity are the College of Arts and Sciences (27%) and College of Health Professions (15%), showing a diversity of student interests.
Interest in St. Joe’s expands beyond academics. Owen Ellison, BS ’29, an undecided business major from East Greenwich, New Jersey, was drawn in by St. Joe’s school spirit and welcoming environment.
“The reason I picked St. Joe's is because the people here are extremely nice and they seem very friendly, and the vibe here is just awesome,” Ellison says.
Community and vibes were similar highlights for Kathleen Ferguson, BSN ’29, an incoming nursing major from Alexandria, Virginia. Another influence on her decision was her older brother’s status as a St. Joe’s alum.
“My older brother went here, and he just loved it,” Ferguson says. “I could just tell that he loved it so much and I knew that after visiting, I would too.”
