With the votes tallied for the election of the National Alumni Board (NAB) leadership, the Saint Joseph’s University Alumni Association announced Alessandra “Ali” Corso ’09 as president-elect and David Lam ’05 ’07 (MS) as vice president-elect.

Corso, who has served as vice president of the NAB for the past two years, will replace outgoing president Frank Sharp ’67.

“Frank and Ali led the NAB during two very challenging years,” said Joe Kender, vice president for University Relations. “They kept us all focused on the future, leading efforts to enhance our program offerings and make notable progress on important initiatives including the Diverse Alumni Council and Regional Ambassador program.”

Corso graduated from the Erivan K. Haub School of Business with a finance degree and is pursuing her master’s degree through Haub’s stackable MBA program. She has had a successful career in the commercial real estate industry.

“I am excited and honored to continue our work and to expand what the full NAB has been working so hard at for two years,” said Corso, who recently moved to Plymouth Meeting, Pa. “I am surrounded by Hawks who love Hawk Hill and love promoting what we’re all about.”

David Lam VP of NAB
David Lam ’05 ’07 (MS) has been elected vice president of the National Alumni Board

Lam, who graduated with both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in finance from Saint Joseph’s, has had a 15-plus year career in the financial services industry. A resident of nearby Horsham Township, Pa., he also is an amateur food critic and is involved in his family’s restaurant business.

“First and foremost, it is a great honor to be elected into this role,” said Lam. “It gives me a great opportunity to help advance our programming as we enter into a great new chapter integrating University of the Sciences.”

Both Corso and Lam have maintained strong ties to the University since their respective graduations. Prior to serving as NAB vice president, Corso was a volunteer leader for the Real Estate & Construction and New York Alumni chapters. Lam has served on the NAB for four years, and been actively involved in the Barbelin Society, the Hawk Ambassadors, the alumni dragon boat team and the Philadelphia Alumni Chapter, where he has helped organize and promote events. He also is a season ticket-holder and avid fan of St. Joe’s men’s basketball.

They will take over leadership of the NAB this June. Alongside the Office of Alumni Relations, the NAB is tasked with facilitating strong affiliations among alumni, students, staff and friends of the University. Visit sju.edu/alumni to learn more about alumni events and ways to get involved.
