The freshman has now won back-to-back awards, earning her seventh total to surpass teammate Talya Brugler with her six nominations last year. Only current Chief of Staff and all-time SJU leading scorer Susan Lavin has tallied more, earning the Rookie of the Week award eight times in her rookie campaign.

Ziegler comes fresh off a week averaging 13.5 points and 11.0 rebounds for the Hawks. The Danish rookie grabbed seven points and nine rebounds in the win against Davidson before exploding for a 20 point, 13 rebound performance against Rhode Island. The tally against the Rams was the seventh double-double of her season, four in her last six games.

Ziegler has averaged 11.7 points per game along with 8.9 boards, leading the team on the glass. On the season, Ziegler has tallied 37 blocks – the rest of the team combining for 45 blocks. In conference play, Ziegler has bumped her numbers up to 13.1 points and 9.9 rebounds per night, averaging 2.3 assists and 1.5 blocks as well.

The Hawks are back in action on Wednesday, February 22 when they head to George Mason in a 7 p.m. tip.
