Academic Integrity Council (AIC)

The Academic Integrity Council (AIC) promotes academic integrity across the university, among students, faculty, and staff. Much of the AIC’s work is proactive and preventive in nature, and aims to celebrate academic honesty and integrity in all aspects of academia by creating and fostering an environment that supports academic integrity. This includes designing academic courses according to best practices in order to minimize the temptation and opportunities for dishonesty. The AIC’s work includes publicizing, educating, and promoting the Academic Honesty Policy. 

In addition, the AHB Chair and the AIC Chair serve as resources for faculty members and students who have questions about the Academic Honesty Policy or who need support in dealing with a case of alleged academic misconduct. Questions about appeal procedures or the Academic Honesty Policy should be addressed to the AHB Chair or the AIC Chair. Questions about preparing for a hearing should be addressed to the Department Chair, professors, academic advisors, or the AIC Chair.
