Dear Members of the SJU Community,

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce the formation of the search committee for the next president of Saint Joseph’s University. Along with the trustee members, the committee is broadly representative of the SJU community. I am grateful to these individuals for their commitment to this critical process. It will entail a significant amount of time over the next several months to ensure that Saint Joseph’s finds the right person to lead the University in the next chapter of its storied history.

In the coming weeks, the University will retain a search firm to assist in conducting a national search. A presidential search website will be created in order to keep the community informed of the committee’s progress and will serve as one of several fora for members of the community to provide feedback.

As I emphasized in my note to you earlier this month, Dr. Reed and his leadership team have positioned the University exceptionally well for future success. It is critical that we continue this momentum and proceed expeditiously, yet thoroughly, to find our next president. The committee, with input from members of the broader University community, will seek a candidate who will continue to provide the bold, strategic leadership that Dr. Reed has provided during his tenure on Hawk Hill. During this search process, I will be as transparent and informative as possible while honoring the essential need for confidentiality.
