Academic Affairs
Saint Joseph’s University is committed to its Jesuit mission through the vigorous pursuit of truth, driven by innovative pedagogy and supported by accomplished research and scholarship. We prepare our students to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century through a variety of learning environments designed to engage them as citizens in service to the common good.
Led by the Provost, the Academic Affairs division includes the University’s Colleges and Schools; Centers and Institutes; Faculty and Academic Support; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; and Student Life. The Office of the Provost staff lead and support the academic administrative operations, academic finance, accreditation, assessment, and faculty affairs functions. The division of Academic Affairs is committed to enhancing every aspect of the student and faculty experience at Saint Joseph’s University.
Jean McGivney-Burelle, PhD, an accomplished higher education leader and teacher-scholar with more than two-and-a-half decades of experience, was selected as provost and senior vice president of academic affairs at Saint Joseph’s University in 2024.
