Beginning this fall, Saint Joseph’s University will provide Cabrini University students with a seamless path to admission. Cabrini students will be guaranteed admission to Saint Joseph’s with a tuition match. All previously completed credits at Cabrini, including general education requirements, will be accepted while offering an ever-growing portfolio of degree programs. The University aims to make this transition quick and easy for every Cabrini student interested in transferring.

Cabrini University students will find a like-minded community, with similar values and an exceptional college experience. Saint Joseph’s expanded its healthcare portfolio, having acquired University of the Sciences last year and is looking ahead to another merger with the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences in Lancaster this January, pending accreditations. These new programs round out existing strengths in science, business, humanities and education. By facilitating this transition, Saint Joseph’s is committed to ensuring a smooth academic journey for Cabrini students, guaranteeing they can continue their pursuit of higher education without further disruption.

“We are excited to extend our warm welcome to students of Cabrini University,” says Cheryl A. McConnell, PhD, president of Saint Joseph’s. “Statistics about student persistence when universities close are alarming. We know that nearly half of impacted students won’t continue their studies. We don’t want to see that happen. For St. Joe’s, this effort is mission-critical and what we are called to do as a Jesuit institution of higher education.”

Saint Joseph’s University has implemented the following to assist with this transition:
  • No-Fee Applications
  • Admission Guarantee
    • For admitted Cabrini students in good standing
  • Tuition Matching and Financial Aid Transfer
    • Net tuition and standard fees will be the same or less than the cost of your enrollment at Cabrini. Any federal or state scholarships and grants you qualified for will be available.
    • In future years, any standard tuition rate increases would apply. Housing and meal plans will be based on Saint Joseph’s latest published rates.
  • Core Curriculum Credit Transfer
    • Cabrini students won’t lose time or credits transferring to Saint Joseph’s. Given the like-minded Catholic values of our institutions and the common emphasis on whole-person education, Cabrini and SJU have very similar general education programs. Therefore, completion of the common core at Cabrini results in completion of Saint Joseph’s University’s General Education Program (GEP). Likewise, all previously completed credits at Cabrini will be accepted.
    • Cabrini University students can select a degree program that is equivalent or comparable at Saint Joseph’s.
    • 97% of our undergraduate Class of 2022 were employed, pursuing graduate study or in full-time, prestigious international volunteer programs within six months of graduation. On our outcomes webpage, you can read more about how Hawks have succeeded after graduation.
    • Ten years post graduation, Saint Joseph’s alumni salaries rank in the top 2.5% in the nation.
    • According to U.S. News & World Report, Saint Joseph’s is among the top ten best regional universities in the north.

    • The University’s network of nearly 100,000 proud alumni support, mentor and cheer on fellow Hawks around the world.
    • Saint Joseph’s has over 100 student organizations and activities available, as well as Division I athletics. Students can join or lead these organizations while making friends and having fun.
    • Saint Joseph’s University was founded in 1851 and we are still growing. Last year, Saint Joseph’s acquired University of the Sciences. Next year, the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences in Lancaster will merge into Saint Joseph’s, pending accreditation and regulatory requirements. Each merger allows the University to expand its health science offerings for students.
  • Students interested in taking advantage of this opportunity are encouraged to visit our Cabrini transfer webpage or contact Saint Joseph’s admissions office for further details and guidance throughout the application process.
