PSIP 2.0

Program Information

Welcome to the PSIP 2.0 page! For the 2023-2024 school year, we will be running PSIP for non first-year students! The dates are Tuesday, August 20 - Friday, August 23, 2024. You will have the opportunity to participate in service and reflection with your peers. This is a great way to build community and fuel a passion for service and justice.

Registration for PSIP 2.0 is now open!
Register before July 31st to receive 40% off the normal program cost of $125!

 Hello! I’m Andrew Skakal, a senior public policy major from Buffalo, NY (Go Bills!). On campus, I’m a member of the men’s crew team, chapel choir, and the Men’s CLC leader. I am incredibly excited and grateful for the opportunity to direct PSIP 2.0 this year!! PSIP was the first program I was involved in here at SJU and it has led me to so many inspiring experiences and I have met so many wonderful people because of it! It means so much to me to be able to give back to this program that truly jump started my college experience. Peace, Love, PSIP!!!

  Hey everyone!! My name is Paige Martin, and I am a senior political science major from Scranton, PA. On campus, I am the Music Director of our all gender a cappella group, Hawkappella, a brother and former DEI chair of Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, and a former Peer Minister for the Winter Immersion Program. Fun fact I play four instruments and am a music minor! I am so so excited to be coordinating PSIP 2.0 this year!

  Hi everyone! My name is George Vyzaniaris and I am a junior Accounting and Supply Chain Management double major. On campus, I am involved in Delta Sigma Pi, Pi Lambda Phi and so much more. I love PSIP because it is a great way to build community in Philadelphia, while also forming friendships along the way. You truly find what it means to be with and for others. This is my third year being a part of PSIP and I cannot wait to meet everyone!

  What’s up!! My name is Ben Vanelli and I’m a senior Film and English major from Collegeville, PA. On campus I’m a Winter Immersion Program Peer Minister, President of the Film Club, Co-editor in Chief of the Crimson & Gray Literary Magazine, and a past PSIP and APEX participant. I love movies, the Phillies, rock and roll, writing, and playing bass guitar. There’s truly nothing like PSIP and I hope it know it will open the door for many more opportunities for all of you!

   Hello! My name is Elise Borenstein, and I am a senior from Boston, Massachusetts. I am a Psychology student with a Clinical concentration and a minor in Animal Studies. On campus, I am a CPC for Weekly Service, an APEX participant, the VP of Communications for APO, a club member of Her'd and many more. I am very excited to experience PSIP 2.0 and all the adventures that are to come! PSIP is an excellent opportunity to give back, serve with the Philadelphia community, and meet new people.

   Hi everyone! My name is Natalie Cicale and I am a rising junior Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Business major from Bridgewater, New Jersey. On campus, I am the incoming Senior Vice President for the business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi, the Panhellenic Delegate for Phi Sigma Sigma, on the club dance team, and a Hawk Host. I participated in PSIP as an incoming freshman, led first-year PSIP last year and cannot wait to lead 2.0! I am excited to meet you all, engage in service and explore Philly!

  Hello everyone! My name is Katie Harper, and I am a senior Math and Spanish double major from Bethlehem, PA. On campus, I am a McNulty Scholar, the Treasurer of SJU Pride, a brother of Phi Sigma Pi, and I work as a peer tutor. A fun fact about me is that I studied abroad in Spain in Spring 2024, and also visited England and France! PSIP is a great way to make meaningful connections with our community both on and off campus and to truly learn what it means to be a person with and for others. I am so excited for PSIP 2024!

   Hey everyone! My name’s Ethan Niesz and I’m a rising senior from Annapolis, MD. I’m a Finance and Business Intelligence double major. On campus, I’m in a CLC, a weekly service participant, and I’ve done APEX the past two years. This will be my fourth year within the program, and I'm super excited to be a 2.0 leader this year. PSIP is a great way to immerse in the Philadelphia community and meet new people. Can't wait to get started in August!

   Hi everyone! My name is Gabby O'Brien and I am a rising senior political science major from Cherry Hill, NJ. On campus I'm a CPC for the weekly service program, I work as a tutor in the Writing Center, and I'm a member of Phi Sigma Sigma! I'm so excited to lead PSIP again because it's such a great way to connect with the greater Philadelphia community. Can't wait to share this experience with you all!

   Hello!! I am Ava Shaner, a Sophomore Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Business Major from Springfield, PA. On campus, I am involved in Agape Christian Fellowship, I was an APEX 2024 participant, I am a member of the Honors Program, and I am a part of Service-Learning. I participated in PSIP 2023 as a freshman, and I am overjoyed to be a PSIP 2.0 leader for PSIP 2024! PSIP was my first introduction to life at Saint Joseph’s, and I can confidently say that it was such a beneficial experience to have before starting my college career. I am so thankful to have met such wonderful people through my experience and form some of my closest bonds with friends at school while having the opportunity to serve the community of Philadelphia. I am looking forward to PSIP 2024!

 Hi my name is Aidan stine, I’m a Junior, I play rugby here at SJU, and am a member of Phi Sigma Pi national honor fraternity. I previously went on PSIP and apex and had an amazing time with both. I love music and playing guitar, going to local sports games. I love PSIP because of the opportunities it has given me to learn and serve my local Philadelphia community.

   Hello!! My name is Clare Yeatman and I am a junior from Wilmington, Delaware. I am an English and Secondary Education major with a minor in History. On campus I work as a Writing Center Tutor, and I am involved in Chapel Choir, Weekly Service, APEX, Sigma Tau Delta, Summer Scholars, and other activities! Outside of school, I enjoy reading, theater, music, going on hikes with my friends, and playing with my pets! I have been involved in PSIP since my freshman year, and I am so excited to be back again this year as a 2.0 leader! PSIP has given me some of my closet friends at SJU, and has brought me closer to both the SJU community, and the communities we serve with and for, in an authentic and meaningful way. I am so excited to meet you all! ❤️

On campus I am involved in PSP, the McNulty Program, APEX, and I am a Placement Liaison for the Faith-Justice Institute.
