Eric Laudano serves as Interim Director of Athletics at Saint Joseph’s University. A seasoned Division I athletics executive, Eric brings more than 25 years of progressive experience across some of the nation’s most respected conferences, including the Atlantic 10, Colonial Athletic Association, Ivy League, Missouri Valley Conference, and the NCAA. Known for a strategic and collaborative leadership style, Eric has consistently driven organizational excellence by aligning athletics with institutional mission, academic priorities, and the holistic development of student-athletes.
Prior to his current Interim Director of Athletics duties, Eric served as the Executive Senior Associate Director of Athletics for External Operations & High Performance at Saint Joseph’s University Athletics, providing executive oversight for high performance and external operations while contributing as a key member of the department’s executive leadership team. Their portfolio spans strategic planning, revenue generation, sport administration, and integrated health and performance services. Eric has led the design and implementation of state-of-the-art basketball and Olympic sport health and performance centers, advancing both student-athlete well-being and competitive success.
Previously, Eric held senior leadership and executive roles at the University of Delaware and the University of Pennsylvania, where he directed comprehensive health, wellness, and performance initiatives, served as NCAA Healthcare Administrator, and oversaw multiple Division I sport programs. At Penn, he also served as Chief Health & Wellness Officer and played a pivotal role in developing a nationally recognized holistic student-athlete wellness and performance division.
Eric’s expertise encompasses long-range strategic planning, fiscal stewardship, fundraising, contract negotiation, and external operations including marketing, communications, development, and sponsorship. Widely respected for building high-performing teams, Eric successfully led cross-campus collaborations and major capital initiatives that elevate both athletic performance and institutional impact.
In addition to administrative leadership, he has contributed to the advancement of collegiate athletics through national committee service, research, and thought leadership in student-athlete health and performance. Eric has served in key roles with the NCAA, including Chair of the NCAA Innovations Grant Committee, and has been an active voice in shaping concussion protocols and health policy across Division I athletics.
In addition to his extensive college athletics executive experience, Eric’s early career experience also spans the Arena Football League, the National Football League, The NFL Scouting Combine, and United States Olympic Committee.
Eric also serves as an adjunct professor at Saint Joseph’s University.
Eric holds a doctoral degree from Temple University, a master’s degree from Quinnipiac University, and a bachelor’s degree from Keene State College.
