RE: Important Details for Commencement: MarchingOrder
Date: April 12, 2021 at 4:45 PM
Dear Graduating Student,
Today, you will be receiving an email from MarchingOrder, the company the University has contracted to provide support for the Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 22, 2021. As shared in a communication two weeks ago, MarchingOrder will build personalized slides for each graduate based on information the University shares and content uploaded by graduates. Graduates will also reserve their guests’ tickets through MarchingOrder.
Personalized Slides
To review, you will be asked to do the following. Instructions will be included in the email.
- Create an account
- Upload a photo
- Upload a personal statement
- Record the pronunciation of your name
If you do not complete the recording of your name by Tuesday, April 27, 2021, you will miss the opportunity to tell MarchingOrder how you want your name pronounced. MarchingOrder will make every effort to pronounce your name correctly, but we want to make sure you have the opportunity to record your name as you want it pronounced. Additionally, you have until Friday, May 7, 2021, to make any changes to your photo or personal message. After that date, you will not be able to make additional changes. This deadline has been set by MarchingOrder and no exceptions can be made.
Tickets
Each graduate will be issued four tickets through MarchingOrder for guests to celebrate on campus during the Commencement ceremony. Two tickets will provide entrance to the event venue at Curran Field, and two will provide entrance to a livestream viewing area at Sweeney Field.
Please note the following:
- Guest tickets will have the graduates’ names printed on them as they are non-transferable to other graduates.
- All guests are required to practice COVID-19 precautions, including but not limited to: wearing a mask and practicing physical distancing.
- All guests above the age of 1 are required to have a ticket to gain admission to the ceremony and livestream viewing area. Guests will not be admitted without a ticket.
- Graduates do not need a ticket to attend, as they will receive a GradPass granting them admission to the event venue.
If you do not receive an email or have any questions or concerns, you may email marchingorder@sju.edu.
We realize this is a great deal of information to share at once, but these steps are important ones to take in order for us to personalize this ceremony for you and your loved ones. We have also built out a Frequently AskedQuestions section on the Commencement website. We encourage you to visit the site for more information and all of the latest details.
