Shenika Jones, Ph.D. teaches in the Educational Leadership and Counseling Department. Prior to her start as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Saint Joseph's University in August 2021, Dr. Jones worked as an Associate Professor and Director of the Professional School Counseling Program at the University of North Carolina- Pembroke. Dr. Jones taught in the CACREP accredited program for 7 years with a research, teaching, and service focus of providing culturally responsive counseling and interventions to K-12 populations. She was a faculty senator for the College of Health Sciences. In addition, she served on several university committees. Nationally, Dr. Jones served as reviewer for the counseling honor's society Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) as well as on the North Carolina Counseling Association board including the elected role as president of the largest organization of North Carolina counselors in 2019. She obtained tenure and promotion to Associate Professor in May 2020 at the University of North Carolina- Pembroke.

Prior to her work as a counselor educator, Dr. Jones worked as a professional school counselor at the elementary level and also served as a private practice clinician for adult populations in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Dr. Jones currently serves as the inaugural program director for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program.
