Shared Memories of Joe
-
Going Above and Beyond
Under Joe DiAngelo's leadership, enrollment at the Haub School doubled and it became the largest Jesuit business school in the country. He did it because his commitment to Saint Joseph's was personal; he is an SJU graduate who truly loved his students. During my eight years as a trustee, I saw him go above and beyond for many of them, including my two daughters. Joe is a gem of a person and lives the Jesuit ideal of caring for the whole student.

A True Hall of Famer
Dr. Joseph DiAngelo is one of the strongest and most accomplished leaders of any executive I have ever worked with. His vision for the Haub School of Business has transformed and raised Saint Joseph’s academic profile, garnering countless awards to the Haub School for innovation and excellence. His greatest contribution has been to have enriched the lives of our students with successful careers in the Jesuit tradition of serving others. He is a true Hall of Famer.

A Singular Giant in Jesuit Business Education
Joe DiAngelo stands as a singular giant in Jesuit business education—a dean for forty years, including twenty‑seven years at Saint Joseph’s University, where his leadership shaped the Haub School of Business into a nationally recognized institution. As an inaugural recipient of AACSB’s Global Impact Award, chair of its Board, and one of the country’s foremost experts on accreditation, Joe elevated both the school and the profession. While I was president of the university, he offered me wise counsel—often before I even knew I needed it—and played an instrumental role in my own path to the presidency at Saint Joseph’s. Above all, Joe and Fran’s deep love for the University has been a gift to all of us, and I will remain profoundly grateful for their friendship.

An Extraordinary Leader, Mentor, Colleague and Friend
Joe DiAngelo’s impact on business education is extraordinary. As a former Chair of the AACSB Board of Directors and through decades of service to our accreditation, standards, and peer review work, Joe helped shape AACSB into the truly global organization it is today. But his greatest legacy may be the people he has influenced along the way. I am fortunate to be one of them. Joe’s friendship, counsel, generosity, and example have made me a better leader and a better person—and I know countless others around the world would say the same. His recent recognition as an inaugural AACSB Global Impact Award recipient is a fitting tribute to an extraordinary leader, mentor, colleague and friend.
