Please provide a brief description about what you do in your role.
I serve on a team of three as an internal liaison between AmerisourceBergen/Cencora’s 30 U.S. distribution centers and manufacturers’ quality assurance departments.
What’s the day-to-day like in this role? .
I documented and addressed packaging and logistics issues up to hundreds of thousands of dollars; led resolution and corrective efforts; and tracked issues from inception to resolution.
How did you land your job/internship?
I was invited and accepted into the co-op program. We were given a sheet of potential employers and told to select several you would like to interview with. From there, I interviewed for 3 roles at AmerisourceBergen and fortunately was selected.
What skills do you use on a daily basis in this role?
In terms of soft skills: communication – both via email and meetings with directors, managers, etc. Hard Skills used include SAP, Excel, Smartsheet, and BobJ.
How did your SJU education prepare you for this opportunity?
My DSS and Finance classes prepared me for some of the base skills needed for the job, such as Excel.
What is some advice you would give to students who are searching for internships and jobs?
Go to every networking event SJU has to offer. Sometimes just showing up to the career fair isn't enough to secure an offer, so going to networking events offered by Haub really helps build those connections
