Vargas's memoir, "Dear America: Notes of an Undocumented Citizen," was the 2019 selection of SJU Reads. "Dear America" chronicles Vargas' life as a DREAMer and also helps to stir dialogue and awareness around the immigration system in the United States.
Vargas' visit is part of the University's UndocuWeek programming, an opportunity for the Saint Joseph's community to learn about and engage with the realities of undocumented immigrants and students in the United States.
