French Minor

As the official language in more than 40 countries and widely spoken on five continents, knowledge of French and French society is a powerful resource for many professionals and academics. A minor in French, combined with a major in any other discipline, provides students with critical thinking and reading skills as well as the ability to express themselves clearly in two languages -- an advantage in international and political fields. At present, French is one of the main working languages for international organizations such as the United Nations, UNESCO, the International Monetary Fund, World Health Organization, International Red Cross and the International Olympic Committee.
