Genomics Certificate

After completing this online genomics certificate, you’ll be able to:

• Critically analyze, translate and apply genetics and genomics in education, research and practice
• Demonstrate an understanding of epigenetics and pharmacogenomics
• Discuss the social, ethical and legal issues associated with genetics and genomics

As an online master’s in genomics student, you’ll have access to virtual lab environments via Labster, an interactive virtual lab simulation tool. You’ll get to explore complex concepts and theories without needing to step into a physical science lab.

The online certificate program in genomics is asynchronous, meaning instruction doesn’t occur in the same place or at the same time. You won’t attend scheduled lectures, but will instead log on to Brightspace, our online learning management system, to complete coursework according to your availability, giving you additional flexibility to complete the curriculum.

Online students at Saint Joseph’s are assigned a student support coordinator who will serve as the primary point of contact throughout the program. Our coaches know what it’s like to be a working professional and a student and will use personal experience to advise you during your academic journey.

The cost for an online genomics certificate for the 2025-2026 academic year is $780* per credit.
