  • The online certificate program in genomics is asynchronous, meaning instruction doesn’t occur in the same place or at the same time. You won’t attend scheduled lectures, but will instead log on to Brightspace, our online learning management system, to complete coursework according to your availability, giving you additional flexibility to complete the curriculum.

Our coaches know what it’s like to be a working professional and a student and will use personal experience to advise you during your academic journey.

What Can I Do with a Genomics Certificate?

Earning your graduate certificate in genomics from Saint Joseph’s University expands your career possibilities across a spectrum of business, science and health care fields and prepares you for advanced study in genomics.

The online genomics certificate is also a great starting point for those who wish to pursue a genetic counseling education. Genetic counseling in particular is a field projected to grow by 26% from 2020 to 2030 — much faster than the average for other health care practitioners and technical positions. Genetic counselors work with families, patients and other medical professionals in environments such as hospitals, labs and universities.
